Research

 Research Types of research Primary Collecting new data through direct contact with people through onterviews, focus groups and surveys. Secondary Relies on existing data and information published on the internet, magazines or other reliable sources.  Logistics documents Daily planner/Call sheet They are used each day on production  Ensures everyone on set know what the goals for the day are, where they are based, when they are required to be there and what each individual's role is. It clarifies the goal for the day in one document and it is a simple sheet that can be circulated among everyone, either in print or digitally.  It lists all resources and logistical details as well as creative aims (e.g. shot numbers to be filmed that day) Call sheets should include- Location details: address, map, transport details Crew details: personnel, contact details, times required Heath and safety notes: weather, protective clothing, hazards and closed roads, people tripping over wires and cables Transport schedule: who, where and when Filming schedule: which tasks are going to be done and when?  Logistics Complex process of organising resources for production- ensuring all personnel, props, equipment and locations are in the right pace at the right time, especially on big productions like a major film, which will also involve doing a recce. Client Briefs and SWOT analysis

 Briefs- A document/request outlining what needs to be produced-the requirements Types of briefs Formal A detailed document that is produced after a scheduled meeting between a client and a producer. Regulations and time constraints and deadlines will be outlined.  Advantage- Less margin for error Disadvantage- closed scope for personal interpretation.  Informal brief Normally a verbal agreement between the client and producer and no written document is required. Advantage- A little more open scope for your interpretation  Disadvantage- Could misinterpret what the producer wants Negotiated brief The client and producer work together to develop a brief for the project.
